Here Comes the Sun

During a weekend, not so long ago, my sister and I took a drive into the hills on a warm sunny day.  We had a favorite place in mind.

As well as being featured in one of my favorite films, There Will Be Blood, Greystone Mansion is incredibly beautiful.

The place felt like it was ours alone.

The flowers were in full bloom.

Small bugs were busy building delicate architecture.

We peeked behind rose bushes and admired the view of Downtown Los Angeles.

Plants looked other-wordly.  Almost pre-historic.

After taking this picture, I noticed a small tour bus outside on the street below admiring the mansion(for obvious reasons).  The illusion of being in another world was broken momentarily and I waved hello.  The tourists snapped away before being whisked away to more sights in Beverly Hills.  We laughed a bit at the sight and then took our hungry bodies to Rodeo Drive for lunch.  We rarely venture into this territory.  However, tucked among the fancy stores we found a relaxed cafe that served delicious macro-biotic fare.  Everything was really tasty and that completed our day in Beverly Hills.  If everyday were like this I would not complain :)

  2. Awesome! I love the photo of you jumping, cause it looks like you're falling into a magical well or something. I also loved how empty it was so that we could enjoy the front lawn and flower fields :)

    1. Aww. Well I've only heard great things about your weather in the Spring/Summer. Picnics, concerts, strolling, etc. Looks gorgeous. The nice thing about cold weather is that once it gets warm, you really appreciate being outdoors. Every day is an adventure. I hope its gets warmer where you are soon! :) xx

    1. I love that it will always be there and will never change. There is something so comforting about that, considering L.A. is ever-changing. So yeah, when you want to go back to Greystone, it will be ready for you! :)

  5. This IS one of the best locations in LA!

Just found your blog and it is so cute and inspirational. I found it through your comment on Cup of Jo. If you love LA, you might like Via Los Angeles. It's "Your Little Black Book to the City of Angels."

    1. I agree, Greystone is one of the best spots in town! It's always crazy to see how empty it is. I hope it stays that way! Hehe.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to my blog :)

      L.A. rocks.
